ABOUT

Bachelor’s degree was started in the Technical Education Faculty, Department of Furniture and Decoration in 2002. During 4 years courses, the students are studied in order to improve workshop application and their skill, wood technology, interior design, computer aided design. Within this department, there is 1 workshop, 1 mechanical test laboratory, 1 computer laboratory.

Within our department, we have 2 Assistant Professor, and 2 Research Assistant.

Graduated students are employed throughout the Technical and Professional High Schools under the Administration of Ministry of Education and the furniture industry and in multidisciplinary design consultancies. A number of the graduates run their own businesses, often with other designers and engineers in the furniture industry.

Ph.D. program was opened at Education of Furniture and Decoration in 2008. In department of furniture decoration we carry out both national project such a TUBITAK, DPT and international (Japon Project), EU Programm such as LEONARDO da VINCI, GRUNDTVIG and ERASMUS.

One of the most important project which carried out by our department are “Protection and Restoration of Historical Safranbolu Hauses”. This project was selected firt grade within 64 turkish project. It’s budget was about 800.000 YTL. Also we carried out DPT project “The Effect of Boron Compounds on Laminated Veneer Wood”. It’s budget was 147.000 YTL)
